We are thrilled to announce that the

2017-2018 HAWK’S NEST

      January 29th, 2018!

Based on the Dragon's Den program on TV, students or groups of students will be come up with ideas on how to spend a $1000 on something that will be a benefit to the students of CMS.  They will need to describe how their idea solves a problem or meets a need for students at CMS.  They will need to research the purchase cost, installation costs, etc....

The money being distributed for the top project is from our Chocolate Fundraiser. The goal is to have students involved in determining how the money is spent on items of interest to them.

All submitted projects will be reviewed and the Top 5 will be selected to present their idea in front of a panel of judges on Wednesday, March 7th, 2018. This oral presentation of their business plan can involve sound, video, costumes, demonstrations, etc...  There will be a preparation meeting prior to the finals to discuss the format. Students will be judged on both their written submission and their oral presentation.

In previous years our judging panel has included Councillor Jan Harder, Trustee Donna Blackburn, our Superintendent of Instruction, a representative from community businesses, our Parent Council Chair and a representative from the school.
