 Upcoming Events at Cedarview

We Scare Hunger

We are collecting food for the Barrhaven Food Cupboard, from Oct 17th -Oct 29th, to make sure everyone in our community can stand up to hunger. Hunger is a supervillain who makes life harder for millions of families across North America. For a kid struggling with hunger, one meal could mean the difference between having the energy to succeed in school and failing a test, or between staying healthy and getting sick.

Bike, Bicycle, Race, Design, ...   Inside Ride (Fight Against Cancer!)

Hey Cedarview families! Get your costumes, friends and family together, because we are planning an epic Indoor cycling challenge and fundraising event.

The Inside Ride is a national Canadian organization that focuses on childhood cancer fundraising.  All money raised will go to our local Candlelighters  – a childhood cancer support program.

On November 2nd we are hosting The Inside Ride event and are looking for teams of 6 individuals, made up of students and/or families in our community.  Individuals may also register, and will be placed on a team. Each team member takes a turn riding a stationary bike for 10 minutes at a time for a total of 60 minutes.

 CMS Student Well-being

What is Student Well-being?

Within the OCDSB, well-being refers to a positive sense of self and belonging and the skills to make positive and healthy choices to support learning and achievement, provided in a safe and accepting environment for all students.

Our Vision

Every student in every classroom feels a strong sense of well-being and connectedness as a result of learning and living in a school environment that is welcoming, equitable, inclusive and respectful. A place where every student is encouraged to take risks, be creative, and innovative in a learning culture that is caring and safe. A place where healthy relationships are nurtured and students are inspired every day to participate actively and with confidence. A place where conditions enable every student to achieve to the best of their ability and be successful in all aspects of learning and life.

 Special Thanks

We would like to give thanks to all staff and students for your taking part in Tim Hortons Cleaning the Capital.  Our yard, the church yard and Cedarview's pathway  looks great. Hopefully for those classes that found the Eco-Message in the bottle have now been enlightened with some environmental facts and actions we can take.  It was a very close in the results of the Eco Challenge. Two classes had the same score 13 out of 17 but G7/8 was just behind the winners in bringing it in. The winning class of baked goods for their class is R7D.  Way to Ms. Fillion's class for being fast and having the most correct answers.  You can check out the answers on the EarthBUD board. Thanks everyone for taking the time to care about our community.  The Tim Horton's Cleaning the Capital Campaign continues until October 15th  if your family wants to register to continue this positive movement.
